Wet snow at 1400 meters yesterday, accumulation of 15 cm at the pig alley weather plot from 06:00 to 15:00 November 29, 2012.

At 2260 meters the temperature was -3 as of 05:30 this morning. Winds were 25-50 KPH from the SE. At Pig alley there was 6 cm of new snow and the temperature was 0. In the valley it was +1.


There is a stalled low off the coast, so  expect more snow for the foreseeable future, heaviest amounts during the evening and early morning hours. A series of fronts will be here for the next week. Forecast for today is 10-12 during the day and another 10 by Saturday morning.

That is a significant low pressure sitting off the west coast. If it stays around we could possibly see over 1 meter of snow by Wednesday Dec 5, 2012 in the alpine areas. Freezing levels will hopefully drop back to a favourable levels by Tuesday giving us snow to the valley.
