11 Dec 2012

The sun did come out yesterday, but it was very brief!!

As of 06:00 hrs the temperature at 2260 meters was -7.5, winds were 25-45 KPH from the SSE.  At 1650 meters the temperature was -3.5, 3 cm of new snow was recorded over night. In the valley it is 0.

For the immediate forecast we can expect flurries this morning into this afternoon. A weak ridge will bring some sunny periods on Wednesday afternoon. Another Pacific front should be in our area by Thursday Afternoon. There are some conflicts in the GFS model and the ECMWF model for Saturday and beyond. My best guess is light snow through Thursday(3-6 cm), Light snow early Saturday morning (5-8 cm), Light snow Saturday (5-10 cm) , by Sunday morning we could see 10-15 cm with light snow through out the day.  Confidence is not high.
