30 Dec 2012

Yesterday eventually saw the moisture leave the area and allow the high pressure to establish itself as the dominant force for the next while.

There was some surface sloughing once the sun did come out.

At 2260 meters the temperature as of 06:00 hrs was -11, winds were 0-10 KPH from the ESE. At 1650 meters the temperature was -9, there was a trace of new snow recorded there. In the valley it was -7.

For the forecast the stationary ridge will give us mostly sunny skies but there are clouds around also. No new snow for the foreseeable forecast period. No quesstimating for at least a week!! Makes for a boring forecast. Some low level cloud this morning should burn off fairly quickly.
