6 Mar 2013

Clouds had moved in by day break.

By noon the front was in our area and light snow began to fall.

At 2240 meters the temperature was -9, winds were 5-15 KPH from the ENE. Maximum wind speed there overnight was 20KPH. At 1650 meters the temperature was -6, 4 cm of new snow was recorded there. In the valley it was -1. Observations taken at 06:00 Hrs.

For the forecast we will see another unsettled day with the possibility of an isolated flurry and some sunny breaks. The upper level low is sliding eastward allowing ridging to give us unsettled weather for Thursday. Drier for Friday and Saturday, still the likelihood of some cloud and even isolated flurries. A warm front will move into the area on Sunday with light to moderate snow falling into Tuesday. Moderate snowfall is likely early Tuesday morning with the possibility of 10-15 cm by Wednesday morning of next week. Perhaps we will see less unsettled conditions next week?!!
