It would be great to phone any time you wanted it to snow! Several waves of snow came through the area yesterday.

At times it was snowing 3 cm an hour. Just not for an hour!!

At 2240 meters the temperature was -11, winds were 5-15 KPH from the WSW. At 1650 meters the temperature was -7, 8 cm of new snow fell overnight 10 cm in the past 24 hours. In the valley it was -1. Observations taken at 06:00 Hrs.

For the forecast the warm moist air has been finally displaced by some cooler air as a West-North West flow takes over in our zone. Expect another impulse of snow later tonight into tomorrow morning. Today will be mostly unsettled with a few flurries and the possibility of the sun popping out. A weak ridge aloft will arrive for Monday giving us more unsettled weather with the possibility of a flurry in the afternoon. Another low pressure system will converge on our area for Tuesday into Wednesday as a cold front should bring us decent snowfall and high winds into Wednesday morning. Another weak high pressure system will be here for Thursday. Guesstimates: Today 0-2 cm, Monday morning 8-12 cm, Monday Afternoon 0-1 cm, Tuesday 0-2 cm, Wednesday Morning 20-25 cm, Thursday 3-5 cm

The bigger picture of our area yesterday afternoon.  If the north winds happen we should see some productive flurries.

At times in the alpine it certainly was still winter yesterday afternoon.
