First thing yesterday morning the cloud level was very high, but there was sunshine above that layer of stratus cloud.






At 2240 meters the temperature was -1, winds were 10-20 KPH from the ESE. At 1650 meters the temperature was +2, no new snow overnight at that location. In the valley the temperature was +2. Observations taken at 06:00 hrs this AM.

For the forecast we can expect clouds with the occasional sunny break this morning before a pacific frontal system enters our area later this morning-early afternoon. A series of fronts will pass through our area today and into Saturday. Unsettled weather for the weekend and into early next week. Freezing level today around 2000 meters slowly dropping to 900 meters by Saturday night. Guesstimates: light precipitation this afternoon, 10-15 cm by Friday at 14:30, 10-15 cm by Saturday at 14:30, 4-8 cm by Sunday at 14:30. Sun and cloud for Monday.

It was an awesome day for filming yesterday morning.

Once the low level cloud dissipated it became a very nice day.

The cloud layer persisted until about 13:00 hours yesterday afternoon.
Alta lake became ice free April 2, 2013. This photo from yesterday at 16:00 Hrs.
