At 2240 meters the temperature was -5, winds were 15-30 KPH from the S. At 1650 meters the temperature was 0, trace of fresh snow reported there. In the valley it was +6. Observations taken at 06:00 Hrs today.
For the forecast the moist on shore flow will continue to bring clouds to the area today with light snow and a few sunny breaks this morning. Tomorrow the northwest flow aloft will bring unsettled conditions with sun and cloud. The ridge will build for Monday through Thursday with warm temperatures and elevated freezing levels. Guesstimates 1-2 cm today depending on elevation, 1-3 cm by tomorrow morning Freezing level around 1700 meters this morning dropping to 900 meters over night, tomorrow it should stay around 1400 meters. Monday 2100 meters rising to 3000 meters by Thursday. The snow pack will be absorbing a significant amount of solar energy next week!!
