July 1, 2013

Happy Canada Day, some convective clouds around but looking like a nice day!!

Warm temperatures yesterday affected the lake and river levels.

At 2240 meters the temperature was +12.5 with winds 40-55 KPH from the E. At 1550 meters the temperature was +20. In the valley the temperature was +16 as of 08:00 hrs this am. Maximum temperature recorded yesterday at the weather station in the valley was +31.9.

For the forecast we should get another warm day with some convective clouds moving through our area. Southerly flow aloft will eventually cool down tomorrow with marine air moving off the coast. Temperatures should drop to more seasonable values with periods of scattered cloud in the mix for the rest of the week.

Be careful when hiking on snow with exposure: Recent fatality in Glacier Park

Climber recovered off Mt Hood:  Mt. Hood

Not much avalanche activity around the world, no posts until July 12 th, off on a sea kayak adventure.

                             Alexander Falls was pumping yesterday.

Callaghan Lake still has some snow on the South Shore.

Awesome views on Callaghan Lake.

Satellite picture from this am, a fair amount of stratus cloud along the coast.
