Three climbers buried by an avalanche on Tuesday August 13 th , 2 Italian climbers died in the avalanche on Mont Blanc du Tacul. Story in links below.

Sunrise this morning, there were some altostratus and cirrostratus clouds early this morning. The cloud cover will likely go to nimbostratus which could bring light rain showers.

The colours did not last very long.

At 2180 m the temperature was +9, winds were 20-40 KPH from the S. At 1650 meters the temperature was + 13. In the valley the temperature was + 12. Observations taken at 08:00 hrs this am. The high yesterday at the Nesters weather station was +26.3.

For the forecast a deep low pressure system is moving in from the Pacific. Our area can expect cloudy skies with the possibility of light rain to begin later this morning or early this afternoon into this evening. It appears the brunt of the moisture is on Vancouver Island and seems to be tracking north of us.  Unsettled weather will prevail for the remainder of the week with the formation of an upper level trough. Clouds, sunny breaks and rain showers are forecasted. High pressure aloft should reestablish a nice weather pattern by next week.
