For the forecast the upper level high will continue into Saturday. A cold front is approaching for Sunday, as a dry upper level trough passes through our area. This system should break up the subsidence inversion in the lower mainland. Dry cool conditions will be here for Monday and Tuesday followed by a Westerly flow bringing some periodic fronts by later next week. There appears to be a change on Halloween Night. The beginning of November is looking unsettled with cooler temperatures and some precipitation. Freezing levels could drop to 1500 meters by Saturday evening.

The Cave Carver: Snow Cutting Tool

Its ironic that an an Air bag can be named Highmark, when highmarking contributes to so many  snowmobile related avalanche deaths. Marketing and some of the recent posts I have published certainly are pushing the success of airbags. I have also posted articles about the reality of airbags. There is certainly a place for them but Air Bag Bravery can also get you killed. Last year in Europe there were at least five cases where the air bag had been deployed and the user was still buried and died in the avalanche. Air bags are just another tool that may lessen your chance of a burial. There are no guaranties that come with your purchase. Highmark Avalanche Bag
