November 21, 2013, clear and cold. Some very thin cirrus clouds bring out some colour.

-12 C in the alpine this morning. Warmer air mass moving in to the area tomorrow.


Size 1 Avalanche November 20, 2013 Schrund Alley on Blackcomb, Thanks for the anonymous observation, was also mentioned there was  size 1 on Prime Rib as well.

Snowmaking pumping out the white stuff! Cold enough to make their own clouds.

Weather Observations November 21St, 2013 taken at 06:00 Hrs.

2180 meters   -12,    anemometer could be rimed
1835 meters   - 10,  winds were 5-10 KPH from the WSW
1650 meters    -9.5,  no new snow base 67 cm
  660 meters    -8,    valley temperature

The embedded high pressure will bring sunny skies to our area for today. The Northwest flow aloft will continue today with cool temperatures in the alpine. Some warmer air aloft will move into the area tomorrow with an inversion as early as tomorrow morning. Freezing levels will reach 3000 meters by the weekend then slowly drop again into mid next week. No change expected until Wednesday.
