December 25, 2013

Merry Christmas, Hope you have an amazing time today and Happy New Year!!

Sunrise December 24, 2013. Awesome day with some great early morning conditions.

Lots of high cloud in the morning which slowly dissipated, some cirrus cloud in the afternoon.

As the sun came up it was obviously going to be a nice day.

The valley was obscured for most of the day.

Sunset on Tuesday evening.

For the forecast we are expecting cloudy skies today into tomorrow as warm advection affects the zone with low level cloud and the chance of some light precipitation. An upper level trough and associated cold front will affect our area from Thursday evening into Friday morning. Another strong upper level ridge will develop for Friday afternoon into Sunday bringing unsettled conditions. Guesstimates: 0-2 by Thursday morning in upper elevations; 5-10 cm by Friday afternoon; freezing levels will fluctuate from 1800 meters today, slowly drop to 1300 meters by tomorrow, then rising to 1600 Thursday evening before dropping again to 900 meters by Saturday morning. Difficult to estimate on freezing levels with the warm advection.

You can see the stratus cloud in this image.

Lots of cloud out in the North pacific.

Some good looking tracks below Disease Ridge.

Travelling through the stratus cloud was not very inspiring.

Being above the layer was awesome.

Another couple of sunset pictures.
