    Cloudy but skiing was good with some crust recovery with the cooler temperatures. Sunday May 8

    Some clouds were at the mid mountain level.

    Another awesome day.

    Some great clouds around on Sunday. Convective cloud development later in the day.

    Weeping moraine.

    Between 1700-18:00 a  thunderstorm passed through the valley, coming from the North.

    By 20:00 hours it was unsettled with a fresh dusting of snow in the alpine.



Weather Observations for May 9, 2016: taken at 06:00 Hours.

2240 meters     -4, Winds were  30-70 KPH SSW --Horstman Hut
1860 meters     -1, Winds were  40-55 KPH NNE --Rendevous
1550 meters    +1, 1 cm of new snow, 1 cm in 24 hrs, 160 cm Base, RH 56%  --Catskinner
  660 meters    +1, Valley Temp, Max Temp Yesterday was +15.6. 0.6 mm of Precip recorded yest

Between 17:00-19:00 Hours Sunday 2.6 mm of precipitation was recorded at 1550 meters.

    As of 07:00 Hrs this am we have some scattered cloud and unlimited visibility.

    Clear to the South with cloud moving in from the NE.



For the forecast, an upper level ridge will bring a dry Northwest flow aloft for today into Tuesday. The low to the North will likely send some cloud our way today. The FL will slowly begin to rise today likely reaching 2800 meters by Tuesday afternoon. An upper low will affect our zone by Tuesday night into Wednesday with the chance of some isolated showers but will likely be mostly unsettled with sun and cloud. A weak ridge builds again for Thursday with unsettled weather expected into Friday. As of now there are model runs showing a weak upper trough moving onshore for Saturday with cooler temperatures and some precipitation.

    High pressure will bring dry warm weather to the area for today.

    Pacific high will bring nice weather to the area for Tuesday.

    High moves to the North Wednesday allowing a weak upper level low for Wednesday.



    An upper trough could move through on Friday/Saturday, more on that as we get closer.
