    AVALANCHE ACTIVITY:

    Locally- Yesterday there were a few Sc (ski cut) & Na (natural)  isolated Sz 1 pockets of ssl.



    YESTERDAY:


    Thursday Morning December 22, 2016- Snowing less than 1 cm per hour at 07:30 Hrs

    The occasional break Thursday morning.

    Winds were up to 65 KPH around noon at 1865 meters.

    At times on Thursday it was snowing 1.5 cm per hour. Snow conditions were very good.

    Sunset was at 16:13 Hours on Thursday.

1550 meters     -7, Trace of new snow, 9 cm in 24 hrs, 119 cm Base, RH 96%   --Catskinner 
  660 meters     -2, Valley Temp, Max Temp Yesterday was +0.2, 3.5 mm of Precip recorded yest


   As of 07:00 Hrs this am we have obscured skies, limited visibility and it is snowing.


FORECAST:

A large cool upper level trough will bring overcast skies for today with some light snow, as a frontal band from the South moves through, in a weak Southwesterly Flow Aloft. The freezing level should remain around the surface. Saturday will see the trough weaken with dry unsettled conditions and the flow becoming Northerly.. By Sunday a short lived upper level ridge will bring sunny skies to the area with colder temperatures in a Northerly Flow Aloft. A series of fronts will bring wintery conditions into the area next week.
Guesstimates: 4-8 cm by Saturday morning.




    Weak trough for today with some light snow.

   Unsettled for Saturday with a building ridge into Sunday.

    Frontal band for Monday with a good impulse of precipitation Monday night into nearly Tuesday.

    Moderate SE wind at 1835 M for most of the day.

    Rendevous Restaurant window.

    Awesome light at days end.

    Tube park Thursday at sweep.

    Town centre is looking great!
