    Locally, Not much activity observed-Possible Sz 1 ssl in steep lee terrain. 



    YESTERDAY:

   Early Friday, December 23, 2016--Thin cloud layer, challenging light at times.

    Open Slate.

    Some very happy visitors.

    Some rock slab turns.

    Whistler Creekside with some afternoon flurries.

1835 meters   -10, Winds were     0-5 KPH ENE--Roundhouse
1650 meters   -10, 1 cm of new snow, 3 cm in 24 hrs, 173 cm Base, RH 97%  --Pig Alley
1550 meters   -10, Trace of new snow,1 cm in 24 hrs, 115 cm Base, RH 92%  --Catskinner 
  660 meters     -8, Valley Temp, Max Temp Yesterday was -0.3, 0.0 mm of Precip recorded yest

   As of 07:00 hrs this am we have broken cloud and unlimited visibility.

FORECAST:
Unsettled this am with some scattered cloud in a Southwesterly flow aloft shifting to Northwesterly later this morning. The freezing level will remain at surface into Monday.  Sunday, Christmas Day will be sunny and cool as the building ridge of high pressure today, strengthens tomorrow. Monday will see cloud development with a vigorous frontal band arriving Monday evening. Strong winds and moderate/heavy snowfall into Tuesday morning. A series of Pacific fronts will bring snow to the mountains next week. Guesstimates: Trace to 2 cm by Monday morning, 25-35 cm by Tuesday morning.





   Should be nice fairly quickly on Saturday.

    Turns unsettled to sunny fairly quickly.

   There are lots of snow mushrooms out there!!

   Whistler has some of the best ski conditions in the world at this time.

    Yes we have snow!!

    This is in the valley at 700 meters.
