Weather Observations for January 24, 2018  taken at 06:00 Hours.

2180 meters     -5, Winds were 55-80 KPH SE  --Whistler Peak
1835 meters     -4, Winds were 15-40 KPH ESE--Roundhouse
1660 meters     -3, 6 cm of new, 16 cm in 24 hrs  Base 275 cm --Pig Alley
  660 meters     -1, Valley Temp, Max Temp Yesterday was +0.5, 3.4 mm of precip recorded yest

    As of 07:00 hrs this am we have overcast skies, limited visibility, and it is snowing lightly.



FORECAST:

A weak trough will bring periodic light snow to the area today, with an impulse of moderate snow tonight in a Southerly flow aloft. The freezing level is forecasted to rise to 1000 meters, but unlikely.  Ground hog day for Thursday with light snow fall, an impulse of moderate snowfall on Thursday night with the FL in the valley. Friday at this time is also looking overcast with periods of light snowfall with the FL too the valley. A change for Saturday as a warm front begins to approach with light snow and the FL rising to 1000 meters. By Sunday the warm front will bring Moderate/heavy precipitation and the Fl may rise as high as 1800 meters. Monday is looking stormy as well.

Guesstimates: 15-25 cm by Thursday morning, 10-15 cm by Friday morning, 5-10 cm by Saturday morning, 10-15 cm by Sunday morning.


    GOES IR image, most of the moisture is South of us now, Southerly flow will change that.

                            Strong winds and snowing!! 80-110 KPH at 2185 Meters all day.

    Snow was light and dry in the morning, 10 cm recorded from 06:00 to 14:00 hrs at 1650 M.
