      AVALANCHE ACTIVITY:

      A climber fell and was involved in an avalanche on Mount Borah, Idaho. Custer County SAR Pic

    Last weeks fresh snow produced some wet loose avalanches once it warmed up.

FORECAST:

A low pressure in a Southwest flow aloft will bring unsettled weather with some showers for today. The freezing level will hover in the 2400 meter range in this cooler air mass. Mostly unsettled weather for the next week with a high pressure hopefully building by next Sunday. Models are differing for next week so only time will tell!! As of now Tuesday and  Wednesday look to be the driest days of the week, with a chance of some isolated showers on Wednesday.

    Sunday morning. Eventually it lifted and rained. 7.0 mm recorded at 660 meters yesterday.

From South Coast Touring:

Quick trip up sky pilot today solid release from gully just above pink slab (1st pic) released 3 times over an hour. Poor visibility on stadium glacier but noticed several car sized chunks that weren’t there on my way up. Including one in the second pic that made it all the way to the top of the moraine on the regular summer route!

FORECAST:

The strong upper level ridge will bring warm temperatures today in a Northerly flow aloft. The FL should rise to aroud 4000 meters today with the dry warm airmass bringing high freezing levels into Tuesday. A weak upper level trough will push into our zone for early Wednesday morning with the chance of some lightning activity depending on what the mix is! Usettled weather for Thursday and Friday before a weak ridge rebuilds for the weekend but likely unsettled weather can be expected. It is June! There are some differences in the long range models!
