    An epic storm day.

Best early season conditions in a long time.

A weak ridge will build today for unsettled weather in a West to Northwest low level flow. The freezing level will hover in the 1300 meter range.  Tuesday will be cloudy with a steadily rising freezing level topping out by Tuesday night at around 2600 meters as a vigorous warm front pushes through into Wednesday. Some snow will fall Tuesday morning transitioning to heavy rain as the day progresses. 25 mil possible by Wednesday morning. Models vary on rain amounts for Wednesday but could easily get 50-75 by Thursday morning. The European model is forecasting 175 mm for Wednesday and the FL could go as high as 2800 meters. Lets hope most of the precip pushes south of our zone. The FL will slowly drop on Thursday from approximately 1700 meters to 1400 meters by days end. Light snow is forecsated to fall in the alpine on Thursday. Warmish moist weather will continue into Friday and Saturday with the FL's ranging from 1200 to 1700 meters. More on that in tomorrow's post.

    Front moving Southeast this morning.

    Unsettled later this am.

    Some lingering cloud Monday.

Very warm wet front by Tuesday evening.

Looking like an atmospheric river is on its way. Perhaps it will keep a Southerly course.

    Looking wet Wednesday.

    Moist southwest flow for Wednesday.

    Flow into Friday.

Looking like January at 900 meters.

Big picture Sunday afternoon 14:00 Hrs.
