A couple of days of storm skiing followed by a tranquil, sunny day in Marriott Basin. Apparently less wind effect in alpine than in the Whistler area...
Winds the previous day had shifted from SE to SW during the course of the day and reaching over 110 during the day at ridge tops. We had to play the aspects for best turns.
-13C at 1900m at 0500 hrs really dried the snow out. Calm winds and clear skies, a great break after the storm.
Some small slabs cut easily on sudden convexities, but mostly just loose dry sluffs between ribs at treeline. Below treeline a nice band of 40-50cm of low density made for excellent skiing.

Nice clear day (minus 1 cloud that created some nice aesthetics) skiing and exploring Gin peak today with Adam Zlámal. Great skiing conditions to Hanging Lake, despite the healthy dose of tracks across the ridge. Terrible skiing back to car from the lake. We skied 2 laps off the ridge and noticed no cracking, whumpfing or other signs of instability including no avalanche debris seen on any of the nearby faces. Noticed surface hoar on our way out which leads me to believe this next storm system might not bond well. All around epic skiing in unusually light coastal snow.
