    As of 07:00 Hrs this am we have obscured skies, variable visibility and it is snowing 1 cm per hour.


FORECAST:

A short wave trough will bring periods of light precipitation for today in a Southwesterly flow aloft. The freezing level could go as high as 2000 meters. We got pretty lucky yesterday, so lets hope for the best outcome, (1800m?). The trough will push through into Monday with a few breaks in the afternoon. A weaker front arrives late Monday night into Tuesday morning. A series of frontal bands will continue into next weekend. Guesstimates: 14-20 cm by Monday morning above 1600 meters, 8-12 cm by Tuesday morning above 1600 meters, 6-12 + cm ? by Wednesday morning.

    More avalanches are hindering the rescue operation for 7 trekkers in Nepal. Article below. Net Pic             

    Avalanche control on Whistler produced Sz 1-1.5 Xe Xc. One Sz 2 result Sc. Harmony opened.

    Limited avalanche mitigation on Blackcomb yesterday. Some Sz 1 Xe. Alpine remained closed.

    No new avalanche observed in the immediate backcountry.



    INFORMATION & OBSERVATIONS:

    AST course at the top of Blackcomb.

    91 cm in the past 7 days.

    Alpine closed Saturday. Harmony Chair did open briefly.

    Skiing privileges + biking privileges!!!! For one Year!!!

    Snow was awesome in places on Harmony, lots of wind affected snow on certain aspects.

    Cornices are growing!!

    Awesome skiing off harmony on Saturday.
