      Nice layer of new dry snow.

      Periods of light snow.

     Tuesday December 15, 2020. 14:00 Hrs -3 with a 20-55 KPH Se wind. +2 in the valley.

      Wet flurries in the valley just after noon. FL on the rise.

      There were some great turns to be had.

  660 meters     +3, Valley Temp, Max temp Yesterday was +2.8, 4.9 mm of precip yesterday.


     As of 07:00 Hrs this am we have overcast skies, unlimited visibility, and snowing lightly.



FORECAST:

Another weak front arrives this morning with steady light precipitation in a Westerly flow aloft. The freezing level will hover in the 1000-1200 meter range. Another wave arrives tonight. Precip will ease to showers by Thursday am with a drying trend, a weak ridge with a chance of some breaks, but likely cloudy into Thursday night. Another cold front arrives Thursday night with light precipitation into Friday night, yet another more active warm front arrives Saturday with light to moderate precip into Sunday. Guesstimates: 12-18 cm by Thursday am, 2-4 cm by Friday am, 15-20 cm by Saturday am, 30-40 cm by Sunday am.

      Avalanche mitigation produced Sz 1 with Xl, Xe, Xc, & Sc on Whistler. Harmony opened briefly.

      Alpine on Blackcomb remained closed. Some Sz 1 Sc.


     There was a bit of new snow instability below tree line..

      INFORMATION & OBSERVATIONS:

      There were some great power flurries in the am.

     At 14:00 Hrs we had 5 cm of new snow, Base 72 cm at 1570 meters.

      A few breaks pushed through in the afternoon.

      Winds got up to 60 KPH at 1835 meters

      Alpine on Blackcomb was closed for uphill traffic on Tuesday 


      Signs signs everywhere there's signs. These are very important ones to know!!!

       Many obstacles on the lower mountain with the warm temperatures we have been experiencing.

     +2 with light rain at 660 meters on Tuesday afternoon.
