Loose snow avalanche set off by some skiers on Disease Ridge, December , 26, 2012.

At 2260 meters, Horstman Hut the temperature was -9.5, winds were 0-10 KPH from the WSW. At 1650 meters, Pig Alley the temperature was -6.5, there was no new snow there. In the valley it was -10. Observations were taken at 06:00.

For the forecast we can expect this ridge to dominate our area for possibly a week, Boo!! Expect a mix of sun and cloud for today(sun in the afternoon),  the ridge will break down for Friday giving us mostly cloudy skies with the possibility of a flurry. On Saturday through to Wednesday expect mostly sunny skies. The next issue we will have in the snow pack will be how much and where the surface hoar grows over this dry period.
