At times yesterday it was snowing way harder in the valley than it was at either weather plot on Whistler/Blackcomb. Makes you think about the variable distribution of snowfall?

As of 06:00 hrs the temperature was -6 at 2280 meters and the winds were 30-45 KPH from the East.
At 1650 meters(PA) the temperature was -4, 9 cm overnight with 11 cm in the past 24 hrs. In the valley it is 0. Winds last night maxed out at 50 KPH but 25-45 most of the evening from the E.

For the forecast the precipitation should continue this morning easing up by this afternoon. A wetter and stronger system will impact our area Tuesday into Tuesday Evening. An upper trough will develop for Wednesday and Thursday giving us unsettled conditions. Guesstimates: 3-5 today, 2-4 Tonight,
8-12 Tuesday, 12-16 Tuesday night, 5-8 for Wednesday, 6-10 Wednesday Night, possible clearing on Thursday but that could change.

The tree skiing today was not so bad despite the tree bombs at the upper elevations. Good lower down still!!

Winds can certainly dictate what can stay opened. Max wind today at Horstman Hut 60 KPH S-SSE at 2280 meters at 11:45, Max wind on Whistler Peak 2180 meters 60 KPH S-SSW at 12:45.

Lots of snow on the trees in the valley. They are having a rough time of it! Snow conditions in the valley certainly changed with the freezing level shift yesterday.

Any guesses where this is???
