June 3, 2013

Looking like a nice day. This morning at 06:30 hrs.

Some new avalanche activity in Blackcomb Bowl yesterday afternoon.

Hard to see but there is some activity in Whistler Bowl as well.

At 2240 meters the temperature was + 1.5, winds were calm. At 1550 meters the temperature was +6. In the valley it was +6. Observations taken at 07:00 hrs this am.

For the forecast, an upper level ridge is building today into tomorrow. Expect a mix of sun and cloud for the week with warm temperatures. Chance of light rain at times depending on which cloud you may be under. Thursday evening looks to be the wettest, but Friday morning it is looking unsettled.

Hiked into Cheakamus Lake yesterday, was an awesome day for a walk in the old growth forest. Trail is in great shape with a few wet sections. A few cyclists but mostly hikers.

Lots of pollen on the lake.

Spring flowers are in bloom.

Great time of the year to be enjoying the valley trails.

Yesterday evening, nice sunset around 21:00 hrs.
