More avalanches in Europe, they have had 12 fatalities in one week, more info in articles below.

Moving through the stratus cloud to get above the layer.

There was good visibility above 1700 meters for most of the day.

Some rain yesterday afternoon in the valley.

First light yesterday morning looking at the Horstman Glacier.

There were some snow crystals in the air and frost on the trees in the very thick cloud layer.

Weather observations for this 30Th day of December taken at 06:00 Hrs.

Today we will see a West to Northwesterly flow aloft bring cloudy skies with the chance of 0-2 cm of snow in the upper elevations. A fairly warm air mass is associated with the moist weather. This will change on Tuesday as an upper ridge builds for late Tuesday into Wednesday. The next frontal system will arrive late Wednesday with light  snow into the mix all day Thursday, we can expect 8-12 cm by Friday morning. Freezing levels will hover around 1300 meters on Thursday, slowly  dropping to surface by Friday evening.  A dry cool Northwesterly flow aloft will bring unsettled conditions Friday into the weekend.

More snow just to the North East of our zone.

Hope we get some of the pacific moisture into our area for Thursday.

Eventually the lower cloud and upper cloud became one thick layer.

Looking down on some white trees in the cloud bank.

Looking towards the peak, just above the cloud layer, lots of people in that zone yesterday.

Village was busy at days end.
