    Snow has been melting at an alarming rate.

   Periods of light rain Thursday morning.


    Some convective cloud development Thursday afternoon.

    The ribbon of snow is still allowing access to Base 2.

Weather Observations for April 22, 2016: taken at 06:00 Hours.

2240 meters      +3, Winds were  15-30 KPH E   --Horstman Hut Station
1860 meters      +4, Winds were  10-20 KPH NE --Rendevous
1550 meters      +5, 0 cm of new snow, 0 cm in 24 hrs, 199 cm Base, RH 94%  --Catskinner
  660 meters      +8, Valley Temp, Max Temp Yesterday was +15.2. 4.1 mm of Precip recorded yest

    As 0f 07:00 Hours this am we have high overcast and unlimited visibility.



For the forecast, an upper level low to our South will bring unsettled conditions (mostly cloudy) with light rain showers to the area in a Southerly flow aloft.  An upper trough is expected for Saturday into Sunday with showery weather and a cooling trend by Sunday. Saturday is looking overcast with light intermittent showers.  We will likely see 4-6 cm of fresh snow above 1600 meters on Sunday. A drying trend is forecasted for Monday, but short lived as more unsettled weather is expected for Tuesday.
