    AVALANCHE ACTIVITY:

    Yesterday Sz 1 loose wet avalanches running easily. Sc Sz 1 wet slabs 5-20 cm.


    YESTERDAY:

    Friday morning, unsettled early in the am May 12, 2107.

    Still a ski out to the bottom.

   Snowing lightly at 1000 meters yesterday morning.

    Snowline at 1100 meters with variable visibility.

    07:00 Hrs Friday morning.

    Above the mid mountain cloud layer.

    Snowing at 1860 meters.

    Light snow down to 1000 meters at around noon.

    Some blue breaks later in the afternoon.

    Same time there were breaks over the valley the clouds clung to the mountains.

    Broke in the evening, 19:00 Hrs.

Weather Observations for May 13, 2017 taken at 06:00 Hours.

1550 meters      -2, trace of new snow, trace in 24 hrs, 223 cm Base, RH 90%  --Catskinner 
  660 meters     +3, Valley Temp, Max Temp Yesterday was +10.2, 3.3 mm of Precip recorded yest

Squamish recieved 19.1 mm or rain yesterday.


    As of 07:00 Hrs this am we have broken cloud and variable visibility at 1860 meters.

FORECAST:

A weak cool upper level low will bring unsettled weather in an unstable airmass to the area today in a northwesterly flow aloft. The FL will likely rise to 1800+ meters this afternoon and drop back down to 1100 meters tonight. There is a slight chance of a thunderstorm this afternoon with this fairly dry unstable airmass. A weak upper level trough passes through on Sunday with unsettled weather, isolated showers and a rising FL (2000 m) before dropping back to around 1200 meters by Sunday night. An occluded front will bring overcast skies and light rain to the area Monday with the FL fluctuating from a high of 1600 meters to a low of 1200 meters. The trailing upper level low will bring warmer temperatures and light rain to the area on Tuesday, before a weak ridge develops for Wednesday.
Guesstimates: Trace-2 mm at 1550 meters by Sunday morning, trace-1cm by Monday morning, 8-12 cm Tuesday morning above 1700 meters, 2-4 mm at 1550 m by Wednesday morning.

OBSERVATIONS & INFORMATION:

    9 cm recorded at 1550 meters Friday morning.

    Unfortunately the avalanche danger kept 7 Th heaven closed.

    Crystal chair closed as well.

    Powder in the bumps.
