    Sunday August 20, 2017. Mostly cloudy in the morning-unsettled in the afternoon.

    Some blue sky Sunday afternoon. Brandon Semenuk wins 5 Th Red Bull Joyride Competition.

    Monday morning August 21, 2017. Cooler and slightly darker during the eclipse in Whistler.

    Tuesday August 22, 2017. Sunrise was at 06:12 Hrs. Temp in the alpine at 07:00 was +14 deg.


    Wednesday morning August 23, 2017. Clouds from a low level onshore flow.


    Horstman Glacier. Unsettled Wednesday afternoon. Max temp in valley of +25.9 Deg.


    Thursday am August 24, 2017. Eventually we did get some precip, 0.6 mm recorded at 660M.

FORECAST:

Upper level ridge will build today with a Westerly flow aloft switching to Northwesterly. Some cloud this morning but the higher pressure aloft will bring sunny skies to the area for the weekend. The high pressure will strengthen early next week with above average temperatures, warming trend into Wednesday. There is a slight chance a shortwave trough may reach the area Wednesday but the strong high to the South may take it out of the picture. The ridge strengthens again Thursday into next weekend. Enjoy the last week of August and the great long weekend coming up.


    High begins to rebuild today.

    Flow this am will have cloud in the area this am.

         High from the South begins to migrate North.



    Upper level ridge strengthens Saturday with warm temperatures.

    Surface high pushes warm air into our zone. Looks wet to the North.

      High pressure for Tuesday.


    High again for Wednesday.

    Flow switching with cooler temperatures on Wednesday, we may see some cloud!

      High strengthens Thursday into next weekend.

Monday August 28, 2017 Update:

High pressure aloft again today with warm temperatures. A slightly cooler trend for Tuesday with an onshore flow which will likely last into Thursday, with cloud development. High pressure rebuilds Friday into the weekend.

     High pressure is beginning to drift eastward.

    Low to the North slides South, marine air will cool things down Tuesday into Wednesday.

      High to the South begins to rebuild.

      High strengthens over the weekend.

Wednesday August 30, 2017 Update

Onshore flow will help clear out the smoke and we will see some cloud development today into Thursday with slightly cooler temperatures. A strong upper level ridge rebuilds on Friday with warmer temperatures and sunny skies into next week..

      Cloud moving onto the coast. Weak cold front moving through today.

    Flow into mid next week.



    OBSERVATIONS & INFORMATION:

    Platform & Curtain Glaciers Saturday afternoon, Aug 19.

    Sunset was at 20:23 Saturday night.

    Big day for Brandon Semenuk on Sunday. High for the valley on Sunday was +24.2 deg.

    Monday morning Coal Harbour, Vancouver. Another awesome summer day.

    Train Wreck. Max temperature in the valley Monday Aug 21 was +28.6 Deg.

    Some clouds formed Tuesday afternoon. High in the valley was +29.7 Deg.

    Sunset Tuesday night, clouds were moving in from the coast in a Southwest flow aloft.

    Wednesday afternoon Green Lake.

    Different perspective of Green Lake.

    Duffy Lake Thursday morning, wetter to the North on Thursday, Cache Creek recorded 2.6 mm.

    Alpine above Duffy Lake was looking parched Thursday. Dark clouds did give some relief.
