      Avalanche mitigation on Whistler produced Sz 1 storm slabs  Xl, Xe, Sc. Sunday am.

      Whistler performed some late PM AC in the alpine.



      Avalanche mitigation on Blackcomb produced Sz 1-1.5 soft storm slabs. Xe, Xt, Xl, Sc.


     Winds were reloading start zones after AC was completed.

  660 meters      0, Valley Temp, Max temp Yesterday was +5.8, 19.9 mm of precip yesterday.




      As of 06:00 Hrs we have 17.1 mm in precip gauge. 12 cm of new snow. Base 278 cm.


      As of 07:00 Hrs we have broken cloud and unlimited visibility.


FORECAST:

Low will send cloud into our zone today in a Southwesterly flow aloft.  Some sunny breaks in the mix. May see a few flurries this afternoon. The FL is hovering around 900 m and may rise to 1400 m during the day.  A weak frontal band arrives early Tuesday am with periods of light precipitation in the am. Unsettled in the pm with a mix of sun and cloud and some flurries in the pm. Ridging for Wednesday will bring sunny skies. weak impulse of precipitation for Thursday with snow showers and overcast skies. Dirty ridging for Friday with a mix of sun and cloud. Low will send cloud into the area for Saturday. Guesstimates: trace-2 cm by Tuesday am, 2-6 cm by Wednesday am. 0-trace by Thursday am, trace-3 cm by Friday am, 0 cm by Saturday am, 0 cm by Sunday am.

        Weakening upper low will bring mostly overcast skies for today. Warm.

      Dry Monday with the chance of a flurry later in the pm.


      Southwesterly flow aloft.



     Weak frontal band in the am, may see some dirty ridging for the pm on Tuesday. Cooler in pm.




      Periods of light precipitation on Tuesday.


         Ridging strengthens on Wednesday with sunny skies. Cool in the am, warms up in pm.

      High pressure Wednesday with sunny skies.


          Weak trough with mostly overcast skies and some flurries. Seasonable temps.


      Periods of light precipitation Thursday.


      Dirty ridging on Thursday.


      Low will send cloud into our zone for Saturday.


      INFORMATION AND OBSERVATIONS:

      08:15 Hrs upload. +3 deg C at 660 m.

      Strong alpine winds in the am. 55-85 KPH SE wind at 2180 m at 09:30 Hrs.

      There was a moist snow line at 1100 m.


      The actual time was 09:58 Hrs. The Swiss time piece was losing time. Eventually readjusted.


      Nice soft conditions in the tree line.




     Snowing S-1 to S+1 in the am.

      Tree skiing was fun. Tree bombs in lower elevations.


      Wind sculptured snow.


      Very wet in the valley.


      Raining at 1010 m


      Wet snow at 1200 m. FL went up to 1600 m.

      At 14:00 Hrs at 1570 m 8 cm of new snow (9.4 mm) Base 178 cm. At 1650 m 11 cm of new.


      15:15 Hrs. Early closure. -1 Deg C with a 45-75 KPH South wind at 1860 m.

Continue to make conservative terrain choices while the storm snow settles and stabilizes.

Avoid lee and cross-loaded terrain.

Seek out sheltered terrain where new snow hasn't been wind-affected.
