For the forecast, the upper level ridge will remain over our area today for another warm, sunny day. The ridge will begin to move East tomorrow allowing a Westerly flow to bring slightly cooler temperatures into our zone. This pattern may continue into Friday, with the possibility of a weak trough bringing cloud development Wednesday or Thursday. Only time will tell if this event happens.  Another upper level ridge will build for next weekend with warm sunny conditions.

The low is moving South near the middle of the week, may get some cloud development.

Chance of a shower on Thursday, only time will tell.

For the forecast, the high pressure aloft with a weak Southwesterly flow will bring a warm sunny day. Dry and warm weather can be expected for the remainder of the week. The high pressure centred over the Southern Rockies shows no signs of weakening. Enjoy the amazing weather pattern.

July 25, 2014

Weather did not change until 16:00 Hrs on Monday; July 21, 2014.

By 20:00 hrs it had turned into a nice evening.

Dark clouds moved in quickly on Tuesday afternoon around 15:00 hrs, July 22, 2014.

Looked ominous, but just some spotty light rain.

Mostly cloudy Wednesday, nice wind Wednesday evening before rain started around 20:00 Hrs.

Fresh snow in the alpine Thursday morning. -1 at 2180 meters, 0 at 1835 meters. July 24, 2014.

Approximately 20 cm fell overnight.                                                              Adam Mercer Photo

A relatively dry day on Thursday, lots of people enjoying the outdoors.

Weather observations for July 25, 2014; taken at 07:00 Hrs this am.

2180 meters        +3, Winds were 15-20 KPH from the SSW
1835 meters        +4, Winds were 0-10 KPH from the SSW
1550 meters        +7, Relative Humidity 97.5%
660 meters      +11, Valley Temperature, Max Temp yesterday + 14.4, 18.3 mm of Precip Yest
9.9 mm of rain fell on Wednesday at Nesters Weather Station

For the forecast, unfortunately a moist westerly flow will keep the area mostly cloudy today with drizzle\light rain for the morning. Weak upper level ridging should bring sunny breaks by the afternoon. Saturday is looking unsettled with a mix of sun and cloud. A strong high pressure ridge south of our zone will bring warm and sunny conditions by Sunday and for most of next week. Still a significant low pressure to the North so only time will tell how it may affect our zone.

As of 07:00 hrs we have cloudy conditions with variable to obscured skies at 1835 meters.

Satellite image this am, July 25 Th at 07:00 Hrs.

    Too many lows close by.

Hope the high to the South is strong enough to keep the low at bay later in the week.

The big picture July 23. Did not really rain hard here until Wednesday evening after 20:00 Hrs.
