    First light September 8, 2014. Awesome day, it did eventually rain, 1.2 mm fell at Nester's Stn.

    At around 17:00 Hours the clouds became angry and it did rain for a while.

For the forecast, high pressure aloft will maintain a dry and slow warming pattern into early next week. Some cloud in the area this am but it should dissipate later this morning. We have been experiencing incredibly nice weather in the Pacific Northwest this summer. Models are in disagreement to a change possibly coming on Wednesday, but as of now it looks like clouds could move in as soon as Tuesday evening early Wednesday morning. More on that subject Monday.

    High pressure aloft maintains its dominance of the weather pattern.

Weather observations for September 8, 2014; taken at 06:00 Hrs.

2180 meters          +6, Winds were 20-30 KPH from the S
1835 meters          +8, Winds were 10-30 KPH from the S
1650 meters        +10, Relative humidity 67 %
  660 meters        +10, Valley Temperature; Max Temp Yest +27.8

    As of 06:00 Hrs we have scattered clouds and unlimited visibility.

For the forecast, an upper level trough will pass by our area, unsettled this morning, increase in clouds later this morning in a Southwesterly flow. The low should bring slightly cooler temperatures but little or no precipitation is expected. Possible for some light isolated rain showers later today. The flow will slowly shift to a more Northerly flow tomorrow bringing unsettled conditions with a mix of sun and cloud. A ridge of high pressure will form for Wednesday in the interior of BC bringing sunny conditions back to our zone. The weather pattern will have offshore flow into the weekend, so temperatures should slowly increase as the weekend approaches. Enjoy the amazing weather we have been experiencing, eventually we will transition into a fall weather pattern, the question is when?!!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              



Full moon is today, some refer to it as the Hunter's Moon.
It rises around sunset and sets around sunrise, the only night 
in the month when the Moon is in the sky all night long.

    Still lots of glacial melt, with high temperatures even during the evenings.

    Waterfalls are certainly still flowing with the present melt.

Weather observations for Friday September 5, 2014; taken at 06:00 Hrs.

2180 meters        +9, Winds were 5-10 KPH from the WNW
1835 meters        +8, Winds were 3-8 KPH from the E
1650 meters        +7, Relative Humidity 76%
  660 meters        +6, Valley Temperature; Max Temp Yest was +23.6

    As of 06:00 hrs this am we have clear skies and unlimited visibility.


For the forecast, the upper ridge will continue to build over our area into Sunday. We will see mostly sunny skies with warm temperatures during the day. The ridge will weaken slightly on Sunday evening with some cloud expected prior to a weak cold front moving in on early Monday morning. The onshore flow will bring some clouds for Tuesday as well before another upper level ridge begins to develop for Wednesday into next weekend. As of now it looks like there is little chance of any precipitation Monday or Tuesday. Should have more intel on next week by Monday.

For the forecast, today we can expect unsettled conditions with mostly cloudy skies with the occasional break. There is still the possibility of isolated showers in this light Northwesterly flow aloft. The flow will change tomorrow to a strong Westerly flow as a moist low moves down the coast bringing light precipitation to our area. Wednesday should see some lingering cloud in the morning as a dry Northerly flow aloft moves into the area. The upper level ridge developing will give us sunny skies into the weekend with seasonal temperatures. There is a chance of snow in the upper elevations Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning.

    As of 07:00 Hrs we have overcast skies with unlimited visibility.

    Looking unsettled for today, mix of cloud with sunny breaks.

   Moist trough moving down the coast for tomorrow.
