Early Monday morning, May 11, 2015.

Clouds were thicker South of our area yesterday morning.

Marine cloud layer in the Cheakamus Canyon. Rained there Sunday night into early Monday Morn.

Some lingering cloud Monday afternoon over Mt Garibaldi.

A fairly sunny day in Squamish yesterday.

Some fresh wet avalanche activity on Armchair.

Sunset Monday night was at 20:45.

Weather Observations for May 12, 2015: taken at 06:00 Hours.

2180 meters      +4, Winds were 20-25 KPH from the E
1835 meters      +6, Winds were 11-15 KPH from the E
1650 meters      +3, No new snow, Base 140 cm, relative humidity is 100%
660 meters    +10, Valley Temp, Max Temp Yesterday was +22.7.

As of 07:00 Hours we have a stratus layer in the valley with clear skies and unlimited visibility.

For the forecast, a low pressure system off the Oregon coast will spin stratus cloud into our zone today, but there is little precipitation associated with this air mass. The air mass has stabilised some what, but there is still a  chance of  thunder showers today and tomorrow if the layer lifts and becomes convective.  With the Easterly flow of the system we could also see some sunny breaks later this morning. So unsettled conditions will prevail for the rest of the week with periods of thicker cloud some days with breaks. Cannot rule out the threat of some showers. Tonight and Wednesday night might produce the most precipitation. Freezing levels are well above the local peaks.

Satellite image from this morning. Stratus layer in our zone but cumulus to the South.

Low to the North and the one affecting our weather today to the South.

For the forecast, the low to the South is moving inland but there is still chance of some isolated showers in the area for today, as it spins cloud our way in a Southerly Flow. The air mass is slightly unstable so there is a chance of some thunderstorms.  Unsettled conditions will prevail for the week with a chance of showers each day, some days cloudier than others. Another low to the North will move into the area mid week.  Models are in disagreement to the timing and amount of precipitation. The freezing level will be well above the local peaks this week.

Low is moving inland over Oregon.

As the low to the South moves East the low to the North will continue the unsettled cycle.

Low moves down the BC coast this week.
