    Low kept cloud in the area until Thursday evening when the high began to push North.



Weather Observations for June 26, 2015: taken at 06:00 Hours.

2180 meters      +13, Winds were 0-5 KPH from the NNW
1835 meters      +12, Winds were 0-5 KPH from the NNE
1650 meters        +9, Relative humidity is 100%
  660 meters      +10, Valley Temp, Max Temp Yesterday was +24.2.

    As of 07:00 Hrs this am we have mostly clear skies with unlimited visibility.

    High pressure with stratus cloud along the coast this am.



For the forecast, a strong upper level ridge will build over Southern B.C., a weak thermal trough originating from the US Western central area will bring very warm temperatures to our area Saturday into Sunday. A short wave trough will push through the area on Sunday afternoon with the slight chance of some isolated showers in the evening. The remnants of the trough will disperse on Monday(unsettled conditions) as the ridge begins to rebuild into early next week. Tuesday into next Friday at this time look like warm sunny days. An amazing stretch of warm dry weather, remember to be careful as the fire danger will increase as the week progress. Update on next weeks weather on Monday.


    Westerly flow aloft as the ridge builds and strengthens into Saturday.

    Northerly low level onshore flow for Today.

    Ridge builds today into tomorrow with warm air moving in from the Southeast.

    Shift on Sunday with a shortwave trough moving onshore. Slight chance of precipitation in the eve.

    Monday will bring unsettled weather as the ridge flattens.

    High weakens slightly on Monday.

    High pressure rebuilds Tuesday and warmer temperatures prevail later into next week

    Relatively nice day on Friday but there was cloud in the area, 1.7 mm of precip at 660 meters.

    Early Saturday June 20, 2015, looking like a nice day but clouds to the North.

    By 09:00 Hours it was overcast. We received another 1.8 mm of rain on Saturday.

    Whistler was just on the edge of the cloud Saturday morning, instability in the afternoon.




     Low to the Northeast was spinning cloud into our area on Saturday morning.




    Sunday morning.

    Much nicer day on Sunday. Horstman glacier opened for summer riding on Saturday.

    Moon last night, yesterday sunrise was at 5:02--sunset at 21:25. Today sunrise 5:02-sunset 21:26.

2180 meters        +8, Winds were 5-10 KPH from the SSE
1835 meters      +10, Winds were 0-5 KPH from the SSW
1650 meters        +6, Relative humidity is 81%
  660 meters        +7, Valley Temp, Max Temp Yesterday was +25.3.

    As of 07:00 Hrs this am we have high scattered cirrus cloud and unlimited visibility.

For the forecast, high pressure with Southwesterly flow today will bring mostly sunny skies this morning with increased cloudiness later this morning into this afternoon. Possibility of some isolated showers later today into this evening as a shortwave trough pushes through.  Tuesday looks like it will be sunny in the morning as a weak upper level ridge moves through with cloud development in the afternoon for unsettled conditions into Wednesday. Upper level ridge will begin to build on Wednesday night, there is a chance of some lingering cloud on Thursday but the ridge may push the cloud out with sunny conditions into the weekend. By Saturday we could see the temperatures rise into the low 30's. More on the weekend forecast in Friday's post.


    Low to the West will bring cloud to the area later this morning.

    Cloud will move into our zone as the day progresses.

    Unsettled for Wednesday with a mix of sun and cloud.

    Ridge builds for Thursday, strengthening into the weekend.

Weather Observations for June 19, 2015: taken at 06:00 Hours.

2180 meters          0, Winds were 35-45 KPH from the SSW
1835 meters        +2, Winds were 25-40 KPH from the SSW
1650 meters        +4, Relative humidity is 90%
  660 meters      +10, Valley Temp, Max Temp Yest was +20,8. 3.2 mm of precip was recorded Yest.

To date we have had 6.0 mm of precipitation since June 1, 2015 at the Nester's Weather Stn.      

   As of 07:00 Hours this am we have overcast skies, variable visibility and it is snowing lightly.



For the forecast, a weak upper level low will slowly move Southward today bringing mostly cloudy skies this morning, we can expect isolated showers as the air mass is moist and somewhat unstable with more frequent breaks as the day progresses. Westerly flow aloft for today with a shift to Northwest flow by Saturday.  A weak ridge will begin to form Saturday for unsettled conditions improving later in the day with more sun. The ridge strengthens on Sunday for warmer temperatures and sunny skies. A weak upper level trough will bring a slight chance of some isolated showers for Monday with unsettled conditions into Tuesday. The ridge will likely build for Wednesday with very warm temperatures but more on that in Monday's post.

    Low will spin clouds our way as it slides South.
