Weather Observations for September 11, 2015: taken at 06:00 Hours.

2180 meters      +13, Winds were 15-20 KPH from the S
1835 meters      +14, Winds were 5-10 KPH from the E
1650 meters      +12, Relative Humidity 75%
  660 meters        +7, Valley Temp, Max Temp Yesterday was +26.6.

    As of 07:30 we have clear skies, unlimited visibility and there is an inversion.

For the forecast, strong upper level ridge will bring sunny skies and warm temperatures to the area for today and into Saturday. A thermal trough will make for some summer like conditions and we should see a Northwesterly flow aloft. Onshore flow will bring some cloud to the area on Sunday into Monday with the chance of some isolated showers on Monday evening. Tuesday is looking unsettled with some showers before a stronger Pacific front arrives Wednesday with cooler wet weather and a good chance of some windy conditions into Thursday, with a Southwesterly flow aloft. GFS and ECMWF are in agreement with the forecast as of now.  Friday should see a weak ridge build, but more on that in next Fridays post.

    Warm temperatures for today, may see some records broken.

    Looks wet to the North.

    Cloud expected on Sunday with some onshore flow.

    Monday may be a fairly nice day with some isolated showers in the evening.

    Unsettled weather for Tuesday. Will have an update in Mondays post.

    Wet and cool weather for Wednesday and Thursday. Looks like some strong winds also.

  660 meters      +8, Valley Temp, Max Temp Yesterday was +18.5.


    As of 06:00 Hrs this am we have broken cloud and unlimited visibility, sunrise s at 06:35.


For the forecast, a very weak upper level trough is passing through this morning. A mix of sun and cloud will prevail for today with clouds lingering around the peaks.  We may even see some intermittent rain showers this evening. Tuesday is looking mostly cloudy with some periodic light rain showers as a cold front passes through our zone. Wednesday will be unsettled as a very weak upper level ridge builds into the area. Thursday is looking dry and warmer with a mix of sun and cloud. By Friday we should see mostly sunny skies into Saturday, with Friday being the warmest day. Will have an update on the forecast on Friday.


    Upper level Northwest flow for today with clouds in the region.


    Should see some showers by the evening.

    Unsettled for the day.

    Cold front with some precipitation for Tuesday.

    Ridge builds for Wednesday.


     High pressure Thursday with the low possibly sending some cloud into our area.


    Ridge will strengthen by Friday with sunny warm conditions.

The last few days of August brought enough rain (75.6 mm) to bring the monthly total to 94.8 mm, the wettest August in the past 10 years.  In August 2014 we had 2.8 mm of rain, which was the driest August in the past 10 years. Another wet August was in 2008, we had 86.8 mm. All this data comes from the Nester's Weather Station at 660 meters.

1835 meters       0, Winds were 5-15 KPH from the ESE
1650 meters     +1, Relative Humidity 100%
  660 meters     +6, Valley Temp, Max Temp Yesterday was +11.6, 1.6 of rain recorded at 660M Yest

    As of 06:00 hrs this am we have overcast skies with limited visibility and there is snow at 1835 M.


For the forecast, the low continues to bring cool unstable conditions to our zone. Unsettled weather for today as the low slowly moves South this morning. A weak upper level ridge will build for Saturday with another weak front moving through Saturday evening into Sunday morning. Sunday afternoon looks unsettled with a mix of sun and cloud, possibly some showers. Monday is looking like another nice day but more on that on Monday as the models are not in agreement. Very difficult forecasting conditions with a cold low over our area this time of the year.


    Low hung around Southern BC Thursday, will move South today, slowly.

    Looking like unsettled conditions for today.

    High will have some influence on Saturday.

    Unsettled Sunday, nicer in the afternoon.

    As of now Monday could be a nice day, but another trough may make an appearance.
