As of 08:00 Hrs at 1835 meters we have obscured skies and limited visibility.

This was May 24, 2015 at 06:00 Hours, looks like a similar weather pattern as this year.

06:00 Hours May 24, 2016. Looks like the ridge is having some influence on the pattern.

For the forecast, a weak high pressure aloft is trying to push into the zone with an upper low pushing in from the Northeast. Who will win the battle? Onshore flow continues to push in low level cloud which will likely lift as the day progresses. Looks to be fairly dry so going with unsettled weather today with mostly cloudy conditions with the chance of some isolated showers. Wednesday is looking like a similar day as the low wins out and we will likely see mostly cloudy skies with a slight chance of some light intermittent precipitation. The FL will rise to almost 3000 meters later today, dropping slightly to 2400 meters by Wednesday evening. The cool low from the North will bring the FL down to about 1700 meters for Thursday night with a dusting of fresh snow in the alpine. More moist unsettled weather is expected for the weekend, models are all over the map for this time period so standby for weekend details later in the week.

    Another cloudy blah day!!

Some breaks for Tuesday are possible, high is pushing in but there is a lot of cloud lingering.

Low from the North pushing into the zone.

    Some moisture around on Wednesday.

Wednesdays image still has significant cloud in the area.

A cool low from the Northeast will roll into our zone for Thursday.

Low will be directly over our area for Thursday.

Thursday will likely be one of the wettest days of the week.

Looking like some precipitation for Friday.

High pressure for early next week, only time will tell.

2240 meters      0, Winds were 5-10 KPH SSE  --Horstman Hut
1860 meters    +2, Winds were 5-10 KPH SSW --Rendevous

As of 08:00 Hrs this am we have obscured skies and limited visibility in the alpine with a dusting.

At 1835 meters we have overcast shies and variable visibility.

For the forecast, a weakening upper level trough will bring overcast conditions to the area again today in a light Northerly flow aloft. Still a chance of some isolated intermittent showers, but the air mass is moving South and the upper low is continuing to move East. A weak upper ridge will have some drying influence in the area for Tuesday and Wednesday with unsettled weather with the chance of some sunny breaks. Another upper level low will move into our area for Thursday with the best chance of some precipitation, more on that as we get closer.

Upper trough on our area for unsettled weather, still the chance of some showers.

Low continues to move East, large upper level trough on the Coast.

    Mostly cloudy today.

    Weak onshore flow for Monday.

Tuesday is unsettled with mostly cloudy conditions and possibly some sunny breaks.

High pressure out in the Pacific will have some influence on Tuesday thru Wednesday.

Wednesday is looking overcast with a good chance of some sunny breaks.

Weather Observations for May 22, 2016: taken at 07:00 Hours.

2240 meters      0, Winds were 10-15 KPH SSE--Horstman Hut
1860 meters    +2, Winds were 11-15 KPH SE   --Rendevous

660 meters    +9, Valley Temp, Max Temp Yesterday was +18.6. 0.0 mm of Precip recorded yest

As of 08:00 Hrs this am we have overcast skies with a few breaks and variable visibility.

Looking very dark to the East.

For the forecast, a large upper trough to the East continues to bring unsettled weather to the area in an Easterly flow aloft switching to Northerly later today. Overcast conditions with a relatively dry air mass have spread into the area. The FL has dropped slightly but will rise to 2400 meters again this afternoon. A weak shortwave trough will pass through our area today with the chance of some showery activity, (likely this evening) but the pattern has remained fairly dry and with the present flow a few breaks are possible as well. Very spring like conditions with a continuing chance of showers over the next few days, very difficult to say how much precipitation could fall but the trend seems for it to stay fairly dry.

Has remained dry for the past 2 days but models are still showing some showery activity!

    Looks pretty dry.

Still the potential for some showers today into Monday.

Flow for the next few days. Unsettled weather with the possibility of some showers.

Low is still spinning to the East.

Unsettled for the next few days.
