FORECAST:

A moist trough to our South will bring unsettled weather for today in a Westerly flow aloft. Showers early this am, mostly cloudy with some breaks looks like it will improver as the day progresses. A weak high pressure will bring drier conditions to the are tomorrow, but will be short lived as a weak warm front spreads clouds into the area Saturday night into Sunday. A strong flat upper level ridge will begin to build next week just in time for the summer solstice. Still feeling like Monday and Tuesday will be dry but with some cloud in the area. After Wednesday it will hopefully warm up slightly with more seasonable temperatures. .

Westerly flow for today, with improving conditions.

Image from this am, still lots of cloud around.

    Improving by Monday.

Looks nicer later in the day.

    High will build for Saturday.

Warm front approaching for Saturday night into Sunday.

    Looking cloudy for Sunday.

Low to the North will hopefully not push South.

Quick update on Locomotive Peak: plenty of parking spaces by the side of the road, with over 6 cars on Sunday morning:)
The forest and creek crossings are reasonably well covered all the way, so no real bushwhacking or fording is required.
Some cornices still looming on the approach from the east side, which I believe is the "recommended" way, but it was too much for us so we found another way, a bit more to the north. In retrospect, going up the same way you come down is much better. I'll try to post later my track for this route. The glacier seems very nicely filled in with no open crevasses that I could see: there was a party of 5 that went all around to Faceless and then down through the middle of glacier with no problems, but I would advice against going without any crevasse rescue gear as it seems the snow bridges are starting to break: 2 of of our friends went almost neck deep in the some holes while coming down and they were not even on the glacier-they were snowshoeing though...We saw around 18 people in total on Sunday:)

    Saturday morning.

Saturday evening, max temp at 660 meters Saturday was +15.7.

Busy day in the park on Sunday.

   Sunday evening. More cloud development.

Monday afternoon, unsettled but a fairly nice day. Max temp in the valley was +20.6.

A few breaks on Tuesday night.

Despite the cool temperatures volleyball was popular on Wednesday evening.

Not much of a view on Thursday in Howe Sound.

FORECAST:

A cold front passed through the area early this morning with cool temperatures in its wake. A cool upper level low will bring unsettled weather to the area today with the Fl presently at around 3000 meters dropping to 1800 meters later in the day, in a Southerly flow aloft. Tomorrow will be similar as the upper level low spins a moist air mass our way. We can expect scattered showers, some breaks but mostly cloudy conditions before the upper low moves South , bringing drier weather for Sunday, as a weak ridge builds. The upper flow is expected to shift Westerly on Monday with a moist cool air mass for most of the week.
