FORECAST:

A weak upper trough will bring unsettled weather this morning, transitioning to sunny skies by this afternoon in a Southeasterly flow aloft. The freezing level will rise to around 1500 meters with daytime heating dropping back to surface tonight. Saturday is looking sunny. Sunday will likely be unsettled with a mix of sun and cloud. A weak disturbance will push through on Monday with overcast skies but the airmass is dry. Back to unsettled weather for Tuesday.
Guesstimates: no precipitation until possibly Monday.

    AVALANCHE ACTIVITY:

   An avalanche on Mt. Mansfield, Vermont has injured 6 soldiers. Story im article section. Net Pic

    Locally, AC produced mostly Sz 1 Xe, Xc, Xl, Sc ssl. 1- Sz 1.5-2 Na observed in Lakeside.




    YESTERDAY:

    Wednesday Morning.

    Fresh snow, cooling trend during the day -3 at 06:00 Hrs, -6 by 24:00 Hrs at 1835 meters..

    Visibility was obscured at times Wednesday morning.

    Similar conditions in Barriere yesterday as well.


    Breaks later in the day.

    Raining yesterday afternoon at Three Valley gap.

    As of 07:00 Hrs this am at 1835 meters we have obscured skies and limited visibility.

    As of 07:00 Hrs at 660 meters we have broken cloud and variable visibility.



FORECAST:

A broad upper level trough will bring a mix of sun and cloud to the area today in a Southeasterly flow aloft. The freezing level will rise to 1500 meters today with daytime heating and drop back down to surface tonight. This pattern will continue into next week with little snow expected in the next week. Friday will start out unsettled but become mostly cloudy in the afternoon with the chance of some intermittent snow flurries as a weak low pushes through into Saturday. Unsettled Saturday night into Sunday with sunny skies by Sunday afternoon. The FL will fluctuate from 1500 meters to surface during this time period.
Guesstimates: 0 cm by Friday morning, trace-1 cm by Saturday morning, trace-1 cm by Sunday morning.
