    AVALANCHE ACTIVITY:

    An avalanche on Saddle Peak, Montana has killed a skier. Article below.                            Net Pic

    Slab avalanche just outside ski area boundary.

    This slope has been producing most of the winter. AC produce Sz 1-1.5 Xe, Sc, Xh. 1 Sz 2 Xl.


    YESTERDAY:

    Fissile Saturday morning.

    Overcast for most of the day.

    Its a steep start!!

    As of 07:00 this am we have a few broken clouds and unlimited visibility and it is snowing lightly..


FORECAST:

Unsettled weather today as the low continues to send us some cloud in a Southwest flow aloft. Convective flurries possible today with the FL rising to 1600 meters dropping to 1000 meters by tonight. Monday is looking mostly cloudy with periods of light precipitation. Tuesday is looking unsettled. Models are inconsistent at this time so more on that later.
Guesstimates: trace-3 cm by Monday morning, 4-8 cm by Tuesday morning, 1-3 cm by Wednesday morning.

    AVALANCHE ACTIVITY:

    Two people missing on Passo Crocedomini, Italy after an avalanche. Story in article section.

    Locally, AC produced Sz 1-1.5 Xe, Sc, Xc.


    YESTERDAY:

    Friday the 13Th, early in the morning.

    Decent visibility in the morning before the front arrived and closed the alpine. 150 KPH at 3 pm.

    Snow was accumulating in the trees. 9 cm recorded at Pig Alley Friday.

    Nice snow in the alpine before it shut down.

    15:30 Hrs in the valley, wet!!

    Snow almost to the valley floor in the am, FL went back up later in the day.

    Green Lake later in the afternoon, ice is gone. Water skiing anyone!!

   As of 07:00 hrs this am we have overcast skies and variable visibility. 



FORECAST:

An upper level trough will bring unsettled conditions for today in a Southwesterly flow aloft. Mostly cloudy today with some sunny breaks and periods of light precipitation, the freezing level will rise to around 1200 meters today with daytime heating and drop back to just above surface tonight. Unsettled Sunday morning with a mix of sun and cloud, likely cloudier in the afternoon with a weak impulse of precipitation Sunday night. Monday looks to be mostly cloudy with some breaks later in the day. Tuesday is cloudy but relatively dry with some flurries expected through out the day.
Guesstimates: 1-3 cm by Sunday morning, 1-3 cm by Monday morning, 2-4 cm by Tuesday morning, 1-3 cm by Wednesday morning.
