    AVALANCHE ACTIVITY:

    An avalanche took a solo mountaineer for a serious ride near Indian Peaks, CO. Story below.

    Wednesday morning October 17, 2018.  Some clouds rolling into the valley but another warm one!

    Thursday morning just before sunset. +9 Deg, +4 in the valley.

    Friday morning October 19, 2018. +9 Deg at 07:35 Hrs.

    Saturday morning October 20, 2018. Sunrise at 07:42Hrs.

    As of 07:30 this am we have clear skes and unlimited visibility.



FORECAST:

High pressure maintaining for today but will begin moving East in a Southwesterly flow aloft. Will likely see some clouds spill into the area as well later today. A weak cold front arrives later in the day on Tuesday but with unsettled conditions. Wednesday will likely see some showers before the main event on Thursday with rain forecasted for most of the day. Unsettled again Friday with a good chance of some rain showers. Cloudy Saturday with the chance of some showers on Sunday.

    Blackcomb Gondola Mid Station.

    214 flying sheave assemblies on Wednesday.

    Hauling the first rope to install the cable on the Blackcomb Gondola upper line.  Thursday.

    Some cloud around on Thursday but still a nice day. Warm temperatures melting high snow.

    Friday morning at sunrise.

    Nice light Saturday morning.

FORECAST:

The strong persistent upper ridge will continue to bring dry weather into the weekend. A weak Northerly flow aloft for today with the freezing level hovering in the 3700 meter zone with sunny skies. The ridge will slowly drift East during the week and flatten by Wednesday evening/Thursday likely bringing some high cloud to our zone. Ridge rebuilds for Friday into Saturday with more sunny weather. Weakens again on Sunday. As of now looks like we may see some precipitation by next Tuesday.

    High shifts to the East.

    Enjoy while you can!!

    Very warm at 1800 meters.

    Low pushes to the South.

         Some high cloud expected with the ridge weakening, still warm for this time of the year.

    High keeping the Low at bay.

    High weakens slightly, possible high cloud on Thursday.

    High shifts south along the coast and moves North inland.

    High pressure for Saturday.

    Low will likely begin to move South on Sunday.

    Awesome day on Saturday.
