August 18, 2013

This am, looking North East. Still some cloud around for today with a chance of a rain shower. Sunny breaks are in the mix as well.

Weather broke yesterday afternoon to the delight of all the spectators at Joyride 2013.

At 2180 meters the temperature was +4.5, winds were 15-35 KPH from the S. At 1650 meters the temperature was +8. In the valley the temperature was +12. Observations taken at 08:00 hrs this am.  2.8 mm of rain was recorded at the Nesters weather station yesterday. The low temperature in the alpine last night was +4. Recorded rain on Friday was 12.6 mm.

For the forecast we can expect another unsettled pattern for today into tomorrow before the arrival of a weak upper ridge which will linger for most of the week. Wednesday looks to warm back up to seasonable temperatures. An upper trough is forecasted for later in the week. Friday could be the day we go back to cloudy and moist weather.
