    At 16:00 hrs yesterday some rain in the alpine with obscured skies. May 21, 2014

    At 17:00 hours at the tree line there was overcast skies with variable visibility. May 21, 2014

    Some breaks early this morning, unfortunately we will see more cloud and eventually precipitation.

    Layered cloud this am with some rain laden clouds on the way. May 22, 2014 06:00 Hrs

    Some of us may be happy about the forecast, some sad!



Weather observations for May 22, 2014; taken at 07:00Hrs.

2240 meters      +2, Winds were 25-30 KPH from the SSW
1860 meters      +4, Winds were 10-20 KPH from the SSE
1550 meters      +6, No new snow, Base 123 cm
  660 meters    +10, Valley Temperature, Max Temp Yest +17.4




For the forecast, a slow moving frontal band is sliding down the coast eventually bringing precipitation to our zone. Will start off with some showers this am and become steadier later today into tonight. The front will also bring some precipitation to our area tomorrow as the system moves SE. Drier conditions are expected Saturday prior to the arrival of a stronger frontal band Sunday into Sunday evening.  As of now, next week has an upper trough moving into the area with cool and showery weather.
Freezing level today will reach 2900 meters, dropping to 2400 meters by Friday night, then slowly dropping to 1800 meters by Monday. Snow in the Alpine!!?



    As of 08:00 hrs at 2180 meters we have overcast skies and unlimited visibility.



    Front will become somewhat stationary later today slowly moving out of our zone by Saturday.
