    Unsettled for a short period of time around 10:00 Hrs, May 22, 2014.

    Became darker and thicker as the morning progressed.

    By noon the wet weather was moving in quickly. Started precipitating around 13:00 Hrs.

2240 meters          0, Winds were 25-35 KPH from the WSW
1860 meters        +3, Winds were 15-25 KPH from the ESE
1550 meters        +6, No new snow, Base 116 cm.
  660 meters      +11, Valley temperature, Max Temp Yest +17.4, 2.2 mm of precip yest.


For the forecast, the cold front over our zone has stalled and will slowly move away with drier conditions possibly tonight into Saturday.  The heavy precipitation should ease off later today with light rain.  Mostly cloudy, with some breaks possible for Saturday with the likelihood of light rain at times.  Another front will arrive for Saturday evening into Sunday with cooler and wetter conditions. An upper trough is forecasted for Monday prior to the arrival of a low out of the Pacific Northwest, bringing cool and showery conditions. Drier weather is looking likely for Wednesday into Thursday.


   As of 08:00 hrs in the alpine we have overcast skies, variable visibility and moderate precipitation.

    Looks like it will be a while before the frontal band passes our area. Image from 07:30 hrs this am.
