    AVALANCHE ACTIVITY:

    Avalanche activity in Kashmir has killed 7 people in the past few days-story below.        Net pic

    Sa last Saturday, fracture line profile yesterday, slab stepped down into November crust.


    No new avalanche activity observed yesterday in the local area.


    YESTERDAY:

    Multiple cloud layers Wednesday morning, January 25, 2017.

    Flat light but cool looking sky.

    12:30 yesterday afternoon.


    Some blue patches in the afternoon.

    Just before sunset.

    Great light near days end.

    As of 07:00 Hrs this am we have scattered cloud and unlimited visibility-stratus cloud above the valley.



FORECAST:

Unsettled weather for this morning in a Southeasterly flow, the flow will shift to Westerly this afternoon with an increase in the cloud cover. Stratus later will lift and dissipate hopefully by this evening. The FL will hover in the 1000 m range. Friday will be unsettled with a warming trend, the FL could go up to 1400 meters.  Saturday is looking unsettled with a mix of sun and cloud and the FL possibly reaching as high as 1800 m. A weakening cold front will arrive for Sunday with the FL fluctuating  from 1200-800 meters.  Guesstimates: Long way out but 10-15 cm by Monday morning.

   Dry today with some clouds by this afternoon.


    Thursday's image, clouds will filter into the zone.

    Fridays image. Less cloud but still unsettled.

    Cold front for Sunday with a quick passage.



   OBSERVATIONS & INFORMATION:

    Looking North in the am, Jan 25, 2017.

   Clear to the Northwest.

    A weak frontal band moved through later in the Am.

    Wednesday morning.

    Some very light snow in the afternoon, trace recorded at 1550 meters.

    Awesome clouds later in the day.
