   Sunday August 30, 2015--Rains eased off--29.5 mm recorded at Nesters Weather station on Sat.
   Squamish received 36.0 mm on Saturday and Pemberton recorded 34.5 mm.

    We did have some breaks on Sunday.

  660 meters     +10, Valley Temp, Max Temp Yesterday was +14.2, 9.7mm of rain recorded Yest.

    As of 07:00 Hours this am we have overcast skies, variable visibility, and raining lightly.

For the forecast, a broad upper trough will remain over the area for the next several days with bands of cool moisture moving through our zone. We may see a shift by Thursday as the high pressure begins to migrate towards us. Today we will be in a moist Westerly flow associated with a warm front with periods of light rain expected for most of the day, a cold front will follow this evening into Wednesday with the freezing level dropping well below the local peaks. There is a slight  chance of a break Tuesday afternoon. As of now Wednesday looks mostly cloudy with intermittent showers and cooler temperatures. Thursday will likely be unsettled and the ridge should strengthen by Friday. Models are not in agreement beyond Thursday so hope to have a better picture by Friday.

    Light intermittent showers for Wednesday. FL down to around 1800 meters.

    Weak high pressure forecasted to build for Thursday.

   Drier conditions for Saturday, with a Northwest flow aloft.

   Looks like the high strengthens for Sunday.

For the forecast, a series of Pacific Fronts (October Like) will impact the region this weekend with below average temperatures and above average rainfall. For today the Southwest flow will bring steady moderate rainfall with a possible lull later today with the flow becoming light Northerly. Saturday will see a more intense front with heavy rain and strong winds. There is even a chance of some snowfall at the upper elevations as the freezing level may drop to 2000 meters. This front will flow into Sunday morning with a lull expected Sunday afternoon. Another strong front will move onshore for Monday easing off by Tuesday. As of now Wednesday is looking unsettled but more on that in Mondays post. The freezing level Tuesday night may dip down to 1800 meters.

     May get a break by this afternoon.

    Moderate rainfall amounts today with heavy rainfall coming this weekend.

   Low will be sending a series of fronts into our area until Wednesday.

  660 meters       +8, Valley Temp, Max Temp Yesterday was +26.4.

Sunrise was at 06:14 this am and sunset is at 20:14. 14 Hours of Daylight.

    As of 07:00 Hours this am we have scattered high cloud and unlimited visibility.

    High pressure still holding. Low will begin to slide South this week.



For the forecast, the upper trough off the Pacific Northwest coast will maintain dry weather for our area into later in the week with a Southwest flow aloft. Clouds lingering this morning should dissipate later this morning for sunny weather into Wednesday. We could see some spin off cloud by Wednesday as the upper low to our North begins to move southward well offshore but close enough to have some affect. By Thursday the low will begin to move Eastward with a good chance of cloudier conditions on Thursday. The models are in disagreement when moisture will reach our area but we could see showers as early as Thursday evening but more likely by early Friday morning. Friday through Sunday could be fairly wet, more on that in Friday's post.

    Low pressure in the Gulf of Alaska will slowly move our way this week. Sundays Position.

    Could see some cloud in our zone from low by Wednesday.

    Low offshore on Thursday, may bring showers to our zone by Thursday evening or early Friday.
