    Valley cloud began to dissipate and lift as the morning progressed.

   As of 07:00 Hrs this am we have overcast skies with some breaks and unlimited visibility.



For the forecast, the ridge is being pushed out quickly by the approaching weak upper level trough. The upper flow will shift from Northerly to Southerly with the FL reaching around the 2000 meter mark. There is a chance light intermittent rain by sometime this afternoon but the core of the system should move South of our zone, leaving a relatively dry air mass. The front will continue into Wednesday morning with unsettled conditions by the afternoon. Thursday a weak ridge rebuilds, bringing unsettled weather to the area. Yet another weak upper level trough is forecasted for Thursday night into Friday with light precipitation and overcast skies, The Ridge rebuilds again for Saturday into Sunday.


    Could see some light precipitation this afternoon.

    Upper level ridge will weaken today allowing weak upper trough into our zone.

    Light rain for Wednesday morning becoming unsettled in the afternoon.

    Flow will switch from Northwesterly to Southerly, today.

    Weak ridge rebuilds for Thursday with unsettled weather.

    Unsettled weather for the weekend.

    Clouds were clinging to the peaks on Sunday April 24, 2016.

    Unsettled spring weather in Squamish Sunday morning.

    West Ridge on Whistler.

    Nice weather in the valley Sunday afternoon.

    Visibility at 1860 meters early in the afternoon.

    Same time frame in 7Th Heaven.

    Clouds stuck in the mountains most of the day.

    Later in the evening.

    As of 07:00 Hrs this am we have broken cloud, unlimited visibility and a lifting valley cloud layer.


For the forecast, weak upper level ridge will dominate the weather pattern for the next week with mostly unsettled conditions. The FL will rise to 2000 meters today in a Northwest flow aloft. The upper trough is weakening with unsettled weather in its wake for today. . The upper ridge should strengthen by Tuesday. A couple of very weak disturbances are expected Tuesday night and Friday, but time will tell! Enjoy the spring weather.

    Ridging for Tuesday with a weakening occluded front offshore.

    Unsettled for Wednesday with a slight chance of some isolated rain showers.

    Ridge strengthens again for Thursday.

    High pressure rebuilds for Saturday into Sunday.

   Sunday morning, April 24, 2016--A dusting of fresh snow at 1835 meters.

    There were a few sucker holes on Saturday above the valley.

1550 meters        0, 2 cm of new snow, 0 cm in 24 hrs, 192 cm Base, RH 99%  --Catskinner
  660 meters      +5, Valley Temp, Max Temp Yesterday was +14.0. 1.5 mm of Precip recorded yest

    As of 07:00 Hrs this am we have overcast skies, limited visibility and it is snowing lightly.


For the forecast, an upper level trough will bring cool showery weather to our zone in a Southwesterly flow aloft. The FL will drop to below 1400 meters tonight.  A weak ridge builds for Monday into Tuesday with unsettled conditions. A weak front moves onshore Tuesday night into Wednesday morning with cloudy conditions, but relatively dry. The high pressure builds again for Wednesday night with unsettled spring conditions slated for the remainder of the week. Thursday has the potential of being a sunny day. Guesstimates: 2-4 cm in the alpine by Monday morning.
