FORECAST:

Ridge of high pressure will bring sunny skies for today in a Northerly flow aloft. Ridge should stick around with sunny skies and warm temperatures into Wednesday/Thursday. A weak trough may move down the coast for Friday with some rain likely. May just be a one day event with unsettled weather for the weekend with a mix of sun and cloud. Potential for the ridge to rebuild early next week. Long range models are suggesting wet fall like weather by the end of September into Early October, time will tell!!. For now enjoy the sunshine! Guesstimates: No precipitation until Thursday night. 0-1 mm by Friday am, 1-3 mm by Saturday am, 0 mm by Sunday am.

      Unsettled Wednesday am, mix of smoke and cloud. Air quality was 3 at 12:00 Hrs.

      Mix of smoke and cloud Wednesday afternoon. 0.2 mm recorded at 660 m on Wednesday.

      Thursday morning, upper trough moving into the zone. Rain arrived around midnight.


      Snowing in the upper elevations, at 12:00 Hrs on Friday. -1 Deg C at 2280 m.

      Phalanx Ridge Friday. 5 mm or rain recorded at 660 m on Friday.

     As of 07:15 Hrs Monday we have valley smoke with broken cloud and variable visibility.


FORECAST:

A broad weak upper trough will bring a mix of sun and cloud for today in a South-South West flow aloft. Still smoke in the air at lower elevations so the visibility is limited. May see a shower today in the mix with increasing cloud cover later today. Unsettled weather is expected for most of the week. Some rain should arrive Tuesday with unsettled weather but models are not in agreement so time will tell. Wednesday looks similar with a mixed bag. May dry out Thursday with some showers as the next low moves down the coast. Not sure how potent the trough will be over the weekend as models are not in agreement. The European model is forecasting wetter conditions. So much for the nice summer weather! Ridge may rebuild by Monday of next week. Guesstimates: 0-trace mm by Tuesday am, 1-3 mm by Wednesday am, 3-5 mm by Thursday am, 0-trace by Friday am, 1-3 mm by Saturday am, 1-3 mm by Sunday am.

      Upper low migrating east today, smoke and cloud with a chance of some showers.


     West-South West flow aloft.


        Weak low unsettled weather, mix of sun, cloud and rain on Tuesday.


      Low still around on Tuesday with sunny periods, cloud and periods of light rain.


      Unsettled Wednesday as the low moves East. Mixed bag with some rain.


      Low migrating east. Unsettled weather Wednesday. Rain likely in the pm.


      Mostly cloudy Thursday with some sunny breaks, chance of some showers.


       Low moving down the coast, mixed bag of weather, chance of some showers on Friday.


      Low pushes South but still lingering cloud for Saturday with some am showers.

      Tuesday evening. High in the valley was +25.7 Deg C.

      Wedge Thursday evening. High in the valley was +23.3 Deg C.


      Friday, the upper level ridge has strengthened. 

     Friday night, 20:00 hrs. Awesome sunset with some smoke drifting in from the South.




     04:00 Hrs Saturday, moonlight with a hint of smoke. High in the valley was +30 Deg C.

      Fires to our South adding to the local smoke problem!

     Smoke did not deter the Downhill Mountain Bikers. Air Quality was at 8! (High Risk)
